Anna Perri — 29 September 2025
I worked with Peter in the NICU in the late 90s and early 2000s. He certainly was a mentor, not only on how to work with families, but also on how to keep a team connected and strong. His compassion and care were immeasurable, and his Christmas parties - something I will never forget - there was so much joy when our work was challenging. I am just sad that I didn't get to attend the funeral. Condolences to Marg and the rest of his family. Love Anna Perri
SHERI WALDRON — 9 September 2025
Dear Marg ,Pete was an inspiration and extraordinary clinician whilst leading advanced clinical care for sick newborn infants - he was an advocate / mentor to the nursing and medical team - I often felt you loaned him to us to support the broader team he was the glue that kept the multidisciplinary team together on so many levels - we once dedicated the Carly Simon song to him - Nobody does it better - Always late for a meeting always came in eating whats on the menu soup and a roll - x we love him so much and he will forever be in our hearts and minds - sending love to you and your family Sheri xxxx

I knew Peter at school in North Melbourne. Having watched the funeral service and listened to the eulogies I was pleased to see that Peter lived his life in the same irreverent manner that he did at school albeit with some added alcohol and cigarettes. RIP Peter

Pete has been an inspiration for me since I had the wonderful good fortune to meet him twenty years ago, as a young doctor at RCH. He had me laughing of course from our first interaction, from there I came quickly to appreciate his very exceptional clinical skills, humility and unwavering dedication to his patients, their families and his colleagues. Pete and Margs kindness and generosity meant so much to us. I feel truly blessed to count Pete as a mentor and a friend whose legacy is the example he set me, and so many others, to love, to care, to laugh, and to live life to the fullest.

It is thanks to uncle Peter that my congenital hip dysplasia was discovered as a toddler. His quick thinking and getting me in to see Dr Ian Torode is the reason I can walk today! An incredible man. Much love - Danielle Loughnan (daughter of Garry and Kerrie Loughnan and granddaughter of Jack and Pat Loughnan).

He was a highly skilled medical specialist. No baby could have been in better hands. Marg, remember him as a loving and caring good guy. John Snowdon.
