Oh my dear Helena. Helena met the world with so much genuine wonder, excitement, positivity and warmth. It was infectious. Being around her made me feel a little more alive, a little more interested in the worldand somehow, like I was a bit more amazing than I really am. She had this way of seeing you and reflecting something back that felt generous and expansive. I remember once, back in our uni days, when I was very much in my grungy, hippy, Doc Martens phase, Helenawho was of course immaculatecalled me elegant.I remember thinking at the time that this might say more about her than me maybe a kind of beautiful projection. But really, it was something more beautiful than that. Helena saw possibility in people and offered it back in a way that made you feel it might just be true. That was such a gift, and Ill carry it with me. Goodbye dear friend.

Helena was, most of all, a caring and always true friend. Over 30 years she never deviated in that rare quality. She won't be forgotten. Ruth and I extend our deepest condolences to her partner, Carmelo, his daughter, Helena's beloved sister, Marika, and her nephew, Nils.
