Marshal Nicholson Hereford

7th September 1948 — 23rd September 2025

Much loved and devoted husband of Jean of 56 years
Cherished father of Ian and Christina.
Much loved father-in-law of Judy.
Adored grandfather of Alicia, Tanisha and Cailyn.

Marshal will be missed for his generous heart, caring and compassionate nature, and his jovial sense of humour. He was called to the Ministry and ordained in 1985, and spent the next 33 years dedicated in his service to the Lord. He treated each and every member of his parish like an extension of his family, and touched many lives along the way. A keen chef, Marshal would never let you leave the Hereford household empty handed, or with an empty stomach. He liked to spend his time reading Wilbur Smith novels, and matching wit with his wife during game shows, like ‘The Chase’. Marshal was also a keen couch detective, solving mysteries watching shows like ‘Death in Paradise’ and ‘Midsomer Murders’. An avid sports fanatic, he spent many a night cheering on team India or watching the IPL. He had a love of music, from playing the bongo drums (or even an upside down bucket or container if need be) to accompanying his wife for a duet.

Most importantly though, Marshal was a doting and loving husband, father and grandfather. A faithful servant to his Lord, he was a living example of the principles of Christianity.

We will forever cherish his big bear hugs, mischievous smile and the warmth he brought into our lives.

Join us to honour the memories and celebrate the life of Marshal Hereford. The funeral service will be held at the Anglican Church of the Ascension starting at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 29th.
