Maureen was fabulous at making me feel very welcome. She was bold and full of spirit, a thoughtful mother and loving grand mother to Matilda and Cassius. I very much enjoyed her company during my 20s, 30s and 40s. I know my father Alan Waters, and brother John Waters also enjoyed family gatherings in her magical havens she created in Richmond, and later in Alphington.. I was in awe of her ability to move furniture up and down the narrow staircases of her butterfly house. I cherished her feminist angle, open mind and her preparedness to defend injustice.
