Deeply saddened to hear about the loss of one of the brightest stars I've met. Steph had the ability to bring a room to life even on the dullest of days. She was so good at getting people together, sharing a laugh and creating a space where people always felt welcomed. I'll fondly remember Quiz Fridays and all the late evening chats we had (after a few too many glasses) discussing work, life and rugby (I'll always remember that laugh, the sense of humour and the grin every time I watch a game). My thoughts and prayers are with all the family and friends during this incredibly sad time.

Dear Steph I appreciated the good chats we had from American politics to religion. You were so well read. Thank you for your Irish mischievous glint in your eye. I was always impressed with your 3 day recuperation period after St Pat Day. May you rest now in peace. Denis

Will miss our chats Steph it was a privilege to have worked with you. You were always so bright and caring it won't be the same pulling my hair out over forecasts without you. My deepest sympathies to your family.
Praveen Mathew — 20 October 2021
Steph was always a pleasure to be around. I remember Fridays at work (DJPR) when she would come around at 4.30 and round us all up to spend a little bit of time in the weekly quiz and banter. She identified as an introvert but every time there was a social event Steph was in the organising committee. She was exceptional at all her finance work. But what sticks out most to me is her heart for the people she worked with and wanting to make sure people are ok and well. You will be dearly and fondly remembered for that Step.

I was introduced to Stephanie by our mutual friend Adrienne McDonnell. Both of us from Dublin living in Melbourne, Australia. We spent many get togethers reminiscing about our home land. Stephanie introduced me to Gaelic Park, she was treasurer at the time. Loved her homeland, music, Irish dancing and Gaelic football. My condolences go out to Stephanie's family. RIP Stephanie.

Stephanie was a valued colleague and will be sadly missed by all from those within Resources Branch at DJPR. Stephanie was of great assistance to me in managing the budget for the Earth Resources Regulation team over many years but also most recently in supporting the finance needs for the Forestry & Game team. We had many debates and discussions and she showed great patience with me when I bombarded her with my many questions. She was a diligent worker, an excellent colleague and a friend. Many people are sad that you are no longer with us but your memories will be with us forever. My condolences go out to Stephanie's family. RIP Stephanie.

Fiona Graham (formerly Clifford) — 19 October 2021
I knew Steph from school - we were in the same year at Santa Sabina, and although we were in different classes, we often spent breaks/ lunches together. After she changed schools, Steph and I stayed in touch for a while, somewhat sporadically through letters at first, and then through a mutual friend. Although we had lost contact after we both emigrated, I was kept up to date by a mutual friend and had always assumed we would meet again, and that I would have another chance to share a bottle of wine and put the world to rights together. I was always delighted to learn that Steph would be attending a night out, a birthday celebration or a wedding. When I think of Steph, I think of long conversations, of her wit and intelligence, her passion and her huge compassion for others. I am so very sorry for your dreadful loss. Ar dheis De go raibh a hanam dilis, Fiona

To the Payne Family; Stephanies Mam, Robbie and Kenny - I am so sorry for your incredible loss of your lovely daughter and sister. Stephanie and I started work on the same day in Ibecs Finance Department. She was a great colleague and an extremely dedicated and hardworking individual. After she left for Oz, I continued contact with Stephanie and had the pleasure of spending time with her in Byron Bay and she kindly allowed me to stay in her apartment in Melbourne when she went to Dublin for Xmas in 2009/2010. We met when she came back to Dublin over the years and unfortunately in recent times lost contact. However, I will always remember her kindness, love of travel and gr she had for home, and love for her family - in particular her two brothers, who she adored. My thoughts are with you all at this extremely difficult time. Ar dheis D go raibh a hanam. Adrienne
