Oh dear Viv. How I'll miss the quiet conversations, the smiles, the vision you have for a better world, your kind and thoughtful collegiate practice, your bravery, your determination, your humour and your grace. May you rest well on the winds and may you be truly at peace. Dear Penny, I hope you can find a way to peace too through this terrible loss. With love and deepest respects, Dimity

Oh Viv, I am so sad that bastard cancer was too tough for you, your doctor's and the best of western medicine to beat. You were awesome and the world will miss you. A fond memory is when you Penny my Dad and I paddled out to an island on Lake Burley Griffen and cooked pancakes for breakfast, a delightful and stylish idea from your incredible mind. Farewell Viv. Love Peter

Viv was a dear friend, a warm, witty, caring person. The world is poorer without Viv in it. Condolences to Penny and to everyone who loved Viv.

Viv had a truly enquiring mind. Always interested in so many things but with a passion for music and film. We recall when she made a video clip of herself singing - she was so proud to be in the moment as she gave it everything she had. And that smile of hers was a dazzler. So sad that she left us so early but everyone who knew her will remember her life force.

Viv, you were an inspiration to me as I explored music so many years ago, and my greatest encourager at that time. But more than that, you were my friend at a time when I needed one; a friend with a huge heart, humble spirit, and a wonderful sense of humour. I will miss you.

A lovely lady. I played for her in a jazz band in the 1990s. One day we were waiting for her to arrive and we're playing a song. She arrived and we quite automatically played it differently and, I hope, her way. Une puissance. Adam.

The world is poorer for the loss of Viv. She filled lives with song and friendship and insght and more. Viv was a dear friend to me during PhD and relationship crises, providing wisdom and patience and inspiration. We made music and fun together. Much love to you Penny. Please don't be a stranger to the Wild-River-Rainforest clan. If in Canberra and wondering who to look up you are always welcome to share some time and space with us.

Thanks to Viv for being such a warm, smart, kind, humble person, always enthusiastic about truth and beauty, keen to work hard for good causes, and full of integrity and great fun. She made a massive contribution to waste reduction and recycling professionally, and with Penny was a constant and highly valued contributor to our local community. Everyone seemed to know and love Viv, and she always made the world a better place. A wonderful friend who will be sorely missed.

Dear Viv, many fond memories of the old Canberra days. We were best friends for many years, playing music and singing songs. You were always patient and kind with my sons Oscar and Sam. You, took us skiing and we nearly got caught in a blizzard. We drank too much coffee and laughed a lot and lied about how many Tim Tams we ate. So glad I have recordings of you singing - your beautiful rich and strong voice. Beautiful friend. Thank you.
