It only seems like yesterday we were sharing a laugh in Ralston St as you were measuring me up for my first Racegear suit.

You did so much for motorsport and helped so many young blokes like me starting out.

And you did it with humour, dedication and passion.

I remember you standing at Race Control, arms crossed, in a crisp white shirt and LCCA tie, ruling 'your' Sandown , and I remember my first ride in your Clerk of Course car as though it were yesterday.

RIP Nank, a true gentleman and friend.

It was a privilege to have known you.

My deepest condolences to Trish and Claire.
