What a truly wonderful man I was so blessed to know. I met Neil through work and over many years forged a friendship. Professionally he was wonderful to collaborate with, always open, receptive to ideas and pragmatic. It was fun troubleshooting different ideas to get results and then implementing them. Over time I got to know more about Neil outside of work. What impressed me the most was his overwhelming love for his family. Neil just adored his sons and was so proud of what they achieved. He was their biggest fan and champion. He would share pictures of the grandchildren and talk about them often. He still kept in touch even after he retired and would call to say hello and chat. I will miss him - he was one out of the box a truly gracious, kind, gentleman. To Joel, Zach, Kathy, Sandra and all, my deepest condolences. People like Neil are so hard to find, how lucky we all did.

Neil, you were our "Heston Blumenthal", passionately sharing recipes and food experiences. You were also a wonderful story teller with a wicked sense of humor and a wry and mischievous smile. My favorite story was when you turned on the air con in your new car and couldn't understand why you were sweating profusely; only to later realise your seats were heated and you had turned these on too. Dearly missed, always remembered.
