Very saddened to hear of Philomena's passing and the family's loss. These are testing times over Easter to lose a loved one, especially a mother. However, it is an opportunity to celebrate her life too. My thoughts are with the family and friends at this time.

I was tremendously saddened to hear about the passing of your mom. I know how important she was to you. Aunty was such an amazing friend to us, more than a mom. She holds a special place in my heart too. I still remember her accompanying us to Anuradhapura for our job interview and the fun we had at your relatives house there. Sweet memories of aunty are just flowing like a long river in my mind. I still remember how she talks to my mom in Tamil and we start laughing. Memories of aunty are countless. Her hospitality was wonderful and great and she was such a dear and special person to all of us. I convey my deepest condolences to you, Adrian and all your family members on behalf of Zareena, my brother and all family members. Aunty will truly be missed and may her dear soul Rest In Peace.May you always feel her presence in your heart and soul dear Arlene. My thoughts and prayers are always with you dear.Waheedaa 23 March

Memories of dear Aunty are so so memorable while at Training College. Her hospitality had no limits and she had an open door for every single person who stepped into your home. Her love for sharing any cooking tips was graciously given. To this day the curry powder recipe she gave is used by me and fried fish with murunga. As a mother she was incomparable and full of love.I remember her telling me that she will be peaceful only after she settles you in Australia. Her support to bring up Maneesha and Dananjaya was so impressive.May darling Aunty Carmie soul rest in peace .Deepest sympathies Arlene dearest to you Sudath and the kids

It is with a very heavy heart I am writing this message. I came to know Aunty the day we entered the English Teacher's College , Peradeniya , Sri Lanka in1985 where Arlene and me were together in the same hostel. Ever since so many memories , the laughter and chatter we shared with her and the tasty food she used to send us and offer whenever we visited will always be remembered. Her memory will not fade away from our hearts. She was a strong , cheerful and bubbly character that we always loved .Rest in peace dear Aunty. Heart felt condolences from me and my family to my dear friend Arlene, Sudath, Maneesha, Dhanjaya and the others of her family.
