I know Mr. Mathew Mathai (affectionately called as Joy) and his entire family for about 35 years. Although we lived in different continents, I had contact with him until recently . Most of his family members have been our guests during my days in Rome and in India and I have been their guests many times in KL Malaysia and in Melbourne Australia. Indeed, after a gap of around 9 years I was blessed to visit with them traveling all the way from the US in last November to Melbourn. Mr. Mathew was an outstanding gentleman, strong in his faith, exemplary in his humility, kind and affectionate in his care for the family and friends. He was a great husband, an exemplary father, and an excellent believer. We all miss him although its a reality of life. May his soul rest in peace. Fr. Raju M. Panackal

Although I have not met Joychan Uncle, I was not short of hearing of his love and care he had for his late wife. An encouragement for me to grow in love.

A dearest uncle, even though our times together in person were unfortunately few, there are so many unforgettable memories that remain! He cared for his family with a deep faith, humility, responsibility and love, and what an honour it is to say that we were family.

We thank God for my humble, saintly brother and his faith in God. He is absent from the body but present with the Lord so we do not "grieve like those who have no hope".

My brother, my mentor, my role model.I thank God for a big brother who was 14 yrs my senior. Got to know him better over the past 7 years. We connected well spiritually and I had the privilege of walking the journey with him in caring for Margaret. Now just like our parents they will be buried together. They have left a rich legacy in Australia and Australia will be blessed. John.
