We were so sad to hear of Mark's tragic death. Mark has been our accountant and friend for over 30 years, and as we think back over our many meetings, we remember a man who gave much more to his customers than honest and fair accounting. Mark advised us on a range of issues, demonstrating how good people working in service industries can make a positive impact on the community. Thanks Mark, from Kim and Nigisti Mulholland, and from our late mother, Pauline. We miss you.

Uncle Mark you will be sorely missed by all who knew you. Sending our sincerest condolences to Donna, Simon, Claire, Madeline, Timothy & Stephanie and the rest of the Heffernan family. After Vin died I always knew Mark was there for me (doing my tax for free!, attending my 40th birthday party with Donna and occasionally seeing them at Vin's grave and catching up afterwards). He was a beautiful, loving, caring man with a wonderful sense of humour.

To Donna and Mark's family.
I have known Mark as a client for 30 years. For the first year I was his client and for every interaction after that we were friends. As Neil mentioned in his eulogy, my daughter Sophie has been seeing Mark for her tax for the past couple of years and was amazed at how much Mark knew about her. I replied that I had been speaking to Mark about her since she was born and he was always interested to know how she was progressing through her life. Mark was the most wonderful man and I will miss him very much.
I send my sincere sympathies at your huge loss.

To Donna and the Heffernan family, I was in shock to be told of Mark's accident but knowing him I was sure that he would pull through.I think it is a reflection of Mark to see the church overflowing on Friday.I have never seen a church so packed.I thought the service was beautiful and the words spoken about him would have made him blush. He would have been so proud of all of you.Listening to all the wonderful times you had with Mark made me think of how great your pain must be with the suddenness of it all.He has left a huge void but he created such a wonderful family who I am sure will continue to love and support one another.
All my love

Mark was our tax consultant for over 20 years and I recall our annual conversations, which went well beyond tax matters. Always greatly appreciated Mark's humour and humanity and sharing our experiences of being in much the same stage of life.

Mark was an easy man to love. His sense of humour, wry wit and quick thinking made every conversation a joy. We have never known a man so easy to be with than Mark; a genuine diamond in the rough. Without any doubt whatsoever Mark and Donna were the perfect match. Our pizza nights will never be the same...

Oh Mark, what a ride. A candle that burnt brighter and faster than most. It's been a privilege to have known you and witness the great couple you and Donna made, you sure bought the best out of each other. I'll never watch a Cats v Swans game without feeling your presence and hearing your ribbings, you always took it as well as you gave it. Thanks for the fun
and influence you've been on us, and make sure you get us all a good seat for when we all meet up again, it'll be some party. Hoping you're forever free of keys, phones, clothing and dietary restrictions. Missing you already, Gillian & Darren.
