CHRISTOPHER BUYERS — 6 March 2020

Mary Minnie Buyers, ne Phillips (b. at Colombo, Ceylon (now Sri Lanka), on 18th December 1921), widow of the late John Buyers, of "Lethenty", Hatton, Ceylon, and Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Mother of Leslie and Christopher, grandmother of Laura (all Melbourne, Victoria, Australia) and Lachlan (London, England). Only daughter of the late Stanley Johnson Phillips, of Nuwara Eliya, Ceylon, and Christina Maria [Tina] Phillips, of Blackpool, Nuwara Eliya, Ceylon; granddaughter of John William Samuel Phillips, of Scrubs Estate, Nuwara Eliya, and Happoorodda, Badulla, Ceylon, and Sarah Catherine, daughter of Thomas Bernard ONeil, late 32nd Regiment (Duke of Cornwalls Light Infantry), of Dublin, Ireland. Minnie was a Registered Nurse and worked at the Royal Melbourne Hospital for many years. She died peacefully at her home in Melbourne, in her sleep, early in the morning of Wednesday 4th March 2020. Much loved and dearly missed.
