I first met Carol two years ago to do art therapy sessions and in the first few weeks I discovered the photo album she had in her room with photos and letters from her Family and friends. And through those precious memories I came to learn more about Carol that she could not express herself then. I found that she had loved gardening, and art and poetry. She adored her family and friends. She had worked as a nurse and ran a bed and breakfast. She a had a lovely, silly sense of humour. She had travelled to many places. She seemed to adore dogs. She had lived a lovely full life. Seeing the photos and listening to the words of her loved ones being read aloud- I think Carol found it peaceful and regulating. Whenever she had a bad day, we would flip through the pages together and she would always feel better.I suppose there was some safety in knowing that even when you cant remember all the things that make you special, the people that love you will remind you. The people we love live on in our memories and our stories. So let us continue to tell her story and celebrate her life. What an incredible human
