I was privileged to sit next to Mary for several years in the Engine Staff room. Together we shared the laughter, wisdom, celebrations, sadness and madness of the Engine room. Having always been a friend, our friendship deepened during that time. Mary, always immaculately dressed, was the source of correct grammar and advice. There were always other staff coming into the room to converse with her. These were some of the happiest times I had in my 45 years at Xavier. After when she reluctantly left and her illness took hold , she retained that warmth, interest in others. Her thoughtfulness often included a card with a poem she had wrote or a handmade gift. I am blessed to have known Mary and always will remember her love for family and friends. Requiescat in pace Mary. You are now in Heaven.Paul
