John has been part of the wallpaper of my life for as long as I can remember. His hearty laugh and sharp, shrewd analysis of life was a delight to be around. The last of the old Irish from my 'village' to sail into the night - we won't see their like again. Every sympathy and good wish to Alice, Mary, John and Helen.
