My deepest condolences to the family and friends of my karate 'grandfather'. He was such a kind, gentle, and patient teacher for us. The first image that comes to mind is a student who lost in a sparring match. Nishimura Shihan quietly called this young person over to comfort and, I guess, encourage the kid. My three kids and I have been graded by Nishimura Shihan. He had the ability to connect with all of us. Rest in peace. Oss Shihan.
