Kristine and Paul Rewer — 18 March 2023
Many people have vivid memories of special events in their lives. Mine came over 38 years ago when I was invited to dinner at Vas and Olga's place. The table was bursting with food and I foolishly thought that other guests were to arrive. The 4 of us sat down to eat and Olga leaned over and said, "Kristine. This is the 1st course". We both laughed. This was the start of a most remarkable friendship. They became our second family. Her dinner parties were exceptional. She was an amazing cook and hostess. Always directing anyone who came into the kitchen. Priceless. She was a talented dressmaker and made christening gowns, wedding dresses, deb dresses and even flew to Sydney to make dresses for her sister. She also photographed family events, her travels with friends and many, many times spent with the family and her grandchildren. How she loved them! But she wasn't content with just photos. She completed photo books of all her special occasions for her family and friends. For her, these books were about reading and preserving memories . She loved us as a family and my family loved her. She loved her Church and religion played a big part in her life. She volunteered often and worked tirelessly. Everyone I know, who came into contact with Olga loved her. I loved her with a passion and so did my husband Paul and our children. As long as my heart remains beating, I know deep inside, she will always be with me. Goodnight Olga, but not goodbye......Kristine and Paul, Tahlia and Nicholas.
