My husband, Allen, was Jeans first cousin. I often heard the two of them on WhatsApp keeping in touch and always sharing information of their families. I kept in touch with Jean on Facebook and enjoyed her poems, jokes and recipes.Jeans passing away came as a shock after a brief illness. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Marshal, children Ian and Tina and her grandchildren, relatives and numerous friends.Jean was a dynamic lady, full of energy, effervescence, kindness, positivity, purpose and love. She will be deeply missed. I pray that her beautiful family will find comfort at this sad time as they wrap their arms around each other and cerebrate the life of this exceptional lady. God bless. A life well lived, Jean.

I used to keep in touch with Jeannie, albeit, informally over many years on Facebook and so did many hundreds of Anglo-Indians and others around the world, especially those, like me, who loved reading and using her Anglo-Indian recipes. She was such a happy, active, joyful and a no nonsense lady who endeared herself to so many of us.My deepest condolences to all the family especially Marshall, her children and grandchildren.I have been given to understand that Jeannie taught for sometime in The Frank Anthony Public School Bangalore in the 1970's; Although I served here for 30 years, I did not have the privilege of teaching alongside as I joined a few years later.I was fortunate to have been close friends with Jeannie's brother-in-law Bernard and the rest of the family.I believe Jeannie was an outstanding teacher like so many in the community. We will miss her so much, especially on her incredible Facebook group.God rest her precious soul!

True friends are rare. ..but I was lucky enough to have one in you Dear Jean. You listened without judgement, laughed without reservation & supported without hesitation. You were there when it mattered most..... offering quiet strength or loud cheer depending on the situation. Whether sharing family history, tending to the garden or sharing recipes, you stitched love into everyday life. You have left behind a legacy of love, kindness and generosity. Losing a friend leaves an ache....but their love leaves a gift we'll carry forever. Rest in Peace Dear Jean.

True friends are rare and I was lucky enough to have one in you Dear Jean. You listened without judgement, laughed without reservation & supported without hesitation. You were there to offer quiet strength or loud cheer depending on the situation. You faced life's challenges with utmost strength and courage. We did not meet after you shifted to Australia but we did keep in touch. Your legacy has left small but meaningful & lasting impressions. Whether sharing family history, tending to the garden or sharing recipes you stitched love into everyday life. Losing a friend like you is painful & leaves an ache.... but your love leaves a gift that we'll carry forever. Rest in Peace Dear Jean.

I followed her on the Anglo-Indian Facebook page. My Mother and her family are from Kharagpur, India and are Anglo-Indian. They had many generations there before moving to U.K. and then Canada. I loved reading Jeans posts with stories from India, recipes(many of which I have made), her poems and funny memes. It was part of my morning routine. I wish I could have met her as she reminded me of my own mother, grandmother and aunts who have since passed. She kept the Anglo-Indian heritage alive. I wish comfort to her family and close friends. God bless you all ,Deborah

I came across Jeannie's Facebook group not long after my late mother passed. Jeannie, the recipes and other contributors to the geoup helped reconnect me with my Anglo Indian heritage. Thsnk you Jeannie, you helped me and my family more than you ever knew.
Allan Blewitt — 13 September 2025
I came to know of Jeannie through her Anglo indian Facebook page, which helped me to link back to Anglo indian nostalgia, whilst based now with my wife and family in the UK. She always gave my comments a like or a heart which made my day, as she could relate so easily to Anglo Indians like myself both in the UK and the worldwide community. Jeanne will be missed by all who knew her personally and through social media, as she was kind and understanding and fair with her dealings with members in her Facebook page.In our belief as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Jeannie will be reunited with her family one glorious day. With our love, deep affection and regards.Allan & Dione
