I will remember Tessa as such a kind and generous person. I loved spending time with Tessa both in Sydney and later when she moved to Melbourne. I met Tessa when I was only 3 years old, she will always be in my heart and memories. She had such a remarkable life story too, so brave and strong.

Tets (as she invited me to call her) was a remarkable woman, capable of much, and perhaps sometimes under-estimated. She was a complex character, who mastered major hardships and challenges, the like of which most of us would find difficult to imagine. Her capacity for resourcefulness and resilience was needed countless times. She chose to devote these capabilities to giving a life to her son Allan. She therefore leaves a legacy, through his life and work, which will continue to grow and benefit the world. I like to think that even she can't imagine the scope of what she has helped to contribute to, but she should definitely go in peace knowing she did her best and it will continue to be appreciated long after she has left.

A woman of substance and a powerful influence in the lives of at least two young boys. You will be sadly missed.

So sorry to hear of my Aunts passing. I still held fond memories from decades ago. It was a tough life for a very nice person. Fortunately she had her son Allan, who she adored and visa versaRIPWayne Evans

We remember Tetsuko as a warm and generous person, when living at Carlton and then moving to Ruckers Hill. She was very interested in Allan's friends and very hospitable. She had a very special spot for Allan.

Please accept my deepest condolences Allan. I was a volunteer at Ruckers Hill for over 13 years taking communion to the residents on Saturday evenings and I really loved Tessa. Mostly she came to the living room for the communion service but if she was not well enough to come I would take communion to her room and she was always very happy to see me. She would proudly show me photos of you and I also saw her beautiful needlework. One day I brought my younger son who had just returned from a month travelling around Japan, to show Tessa his photos on his laptop and her whole face lit up when she saw places she remembered from her youth. Your mum was a beautiful, elegant, gracious lady and she will be sadly missed.
